Round Dish with Native Leaf impression (FA72)
Spending time in nature is one of my favorite things to do. These catchall dishes are made with the intention of reminding all of us that we are connected to one another - plants, people, and all the other organisms that call Earth home. Each piece is formed by hand and impressed with plant leaves from our gardens, so this is truly a unique piece to add to your home or garden.
This piece measures about 10 cm. It can be hung outdoors throughout the year.
This dish is impressed with leaves from Kankakee Mallow (Iliamna remota), which is a plant indigenous to very narrow range in Illinois along the Kankakee River. These are great plants to start your native garden with as they have nice foliage and flowers all spring, summer, and fall and they do not spread aggressively.
Measurements may vary due to the handmade nature of our work. During updates, questions on sizes may not be answered immediately. Note that these are glazed pieces, and glazes pool and drip in unexpected ways. Each spent its time in a different spot in the kiln, and can never be recreated.
