Bird ornament with Native Leaf impression (I4)
These little hand-built birds are made to perch anywhere indoors or out! Using our handmade bird cutter, we form each one by hand. Impressed with a plant leaves from our wild prairies and creek banks, they are all a little different. Twine is included, but they also have a metal hook for hanging.
This bird is impressed with leaves from Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa), also known as bee balm. Many different Indigenous peoples have used this plant to treat a variety of ailments. Its tall purple flowers attract many pollinators, and some people use the leaves as an herb and describe its flavor as similar to oregano.
These Birds measure about 8 cm from tail to beak.
Measurements may vary due to the handmade nature of our work. During updates, questions on sizes may not be answered immediately. Note that these are glazed pieces, and glazes pool and drip in unexpected ways. Each spent its time in a different spot in the kiln, and can never be recreated.
